• Replace the septic tank with a domestic mini sewage treatment plant, which are permitted to continue to discharge into a watercourse.
To construct a soakaway or drainage field is not possible for many rural householders as it requires a sizeable garden or field, making septic tank replacement with a domestic mini sewage treatment plant the only viable option.
